I've always had problems with my lips drying out all the time and I've been searching for the perfect lip balm for as long as I can remember. It gets soooo frustrating sometimes because I have the habit of reading reviews before I snatch a product only to find out that it doesn't work for me. Well my lips are picky!
I own and tried more than 30 lip balms and nothing has ever satisfied my craving for soft and "unchapped" lips until this one fateful day.... Ok let's cut the drama. So one evening I was logged in at makeupalley.com and I was reading a couple of reviews about certain lip balms and I came across Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Butter and Dr Pepper Lip Smacker. I read and read and browsed and I can't seem to find any bad reviews for these 2 products.
I ordered from eBay and I think I got them after a few weeks. I was excited to try them of course! I didn't have huge expectations or whatsoever because I know I have the most stubborn lips in the planet.
I tried Dr Pepper and boy did I love it? YES YES and YES! I can immediately tell the difference after just one application. I love the hint of red and I absolutely love the way it smells. I'm not sure if it really smells like Dr Pepper but it smells cherry to me lol. It glides on easily and it's not sticky at all. It feels so good on the lips and I think the texture is perfect. Not too creamy and not too slick, just the way that I want it! I apply it before bed time and my lips feel wonderful when I wake up.
I tried a lot of balms and for some reason my lips would chap like crazy so can you imagine how horrified I am when I put on matte lipstick? Augh disaster!!! Dr Pepper didn't chap my lips at all, I super love it.
Ok enough about the Dr Pepper Lip Smacker, let's move on to Palmer's Lip Butter. I have one in Dark Chocolate and Peppermint. It's clear and it smells and tastes exactly like chocolate and peppermint. Ahhh it's heaven on my lips! I can't get enough of it. My lips can enjoy luxury at last! It really feels like butter and what I like about it is it contains Vitamin E. It has that hint of gloss when you put it on and I think it looks great on top of a lipstick or lip stain.
Another lip product that I am crazy about is the Alba Terra Tint in Blaze. Since I'm no good with a red lipstick, this is my bet! I love the color and I like the feeling on my lips right after I glide it on, it's kinda minty. Another thing that I love about it is it has chemical free SPF. Pretty cool ei? I will never wear red lipstick anymore. Blaze looks really gorgeous on my lips and it lasts for about 2 to 3 hours. Well I really do not mind reapplying because of the minty feel on my lips. It doesn't chap my lips so that's another plus factor.
